First, I wanna explain why I’m writing this in English. I’ve been learning it since I was four years old and at some point I started doing a lot in English, writing, watching, reading. Over the years I’ve been more comfortable in expressing my feelings and thoughts in English. That’s why this is written in English.
Change is something we encounter every day. It’s unpredictable, sometimes challenging, sometimes exciting and often subtle. Change doesn’t have to be feared, it can coexist with consistency, together they can lead to growth and meaning.
For our school assignment, we were asked to pick something in our lives to change and commit to it for a set period of time. I chose to continue writing a book for my boyfriend, a project I had already started but that required structure, patience, and daily effort to grow. This book is not just a creative endeavor. It’s an emotional journey, reflecting my feelings, my relationship, and my ability to maintain commitment in the face of change.
Some days, I’m filled with inspiration, eager to design pages, write passages or craft the perfect cover. Other days my feelings shift, my motivation fades and I wonder if I should take a break. Even small steps, adding a few words, sketching a page or choosing colors, it’s important. The routine of showing up every day is what keeps the project alive.
Here are some diary glimpses from my ongoing journey:
Day 3: I began full of excitement. The ideas were flowing, the designs were colorful and my heart felt light. But by evening I felt overwhelmed. Some sentences didn’t sound right, some pages looked messy. I doubted my abilities. I „forced“ myself to finish one page and completing it, however imperfect, it still felt like a small victory.
Day 7: A week in and I felt my first taste of real frustration. A minor disagreement with my boyfriend days before affected my mood. I didn’t feel like writing. Yet I opened my notebook and sketched the cover for a chapter. It was simple, not perfect but it reminded me that consistency matters more than waiting for the “perfect” moment.
Day 15: Halfway through the assignment, my emotions are like a rollercoaster. Some days I’m inspired, others I can barely bring myself to touch the pages. Today, I added a few paragraphs, even though I didn’t feel like it. Each small effort reinforces the importance of routine. Change is natural, sometimes positive, sometimes negative.
Day 20: I spent hours designing illustrations today. My hands ached, I felt tired but the joy of seeing a page come together outweighed everything. Even when my feelings are inconsistent, I notice that daily effort creates progress. The book may still be far from complete but it is alive, growing with me.
Day 25: I felt a mix of pride and frustration. Some pages are beautiful, others awkward. Some of my words felt forced. I wanted to give up today but reminded myself that showing up, even when it’s hard is more valuable than perfect results. Consistency is turning doubt into creation.
Day 30: Inspiration struck today in an unexpected moment. A sentence flowed perfectly, a page design came together beautifully. It reminded me that showing up every day, even on low-energy days, makes space for moments of real creativity. Change can be unpredictable but it doesn’t have to prevent progress. It teaches patience, acceptance, and love for the process, not just the result. +Even unfinished, even imperfect, the book is growing.
Day 35: The book is far from finished. My feelings and my relationship have changed in ways I didn’t expect. But I keep returning to it. Every day I work on it, I learn more about myself, my emotions and the power of consistency. Change is constant but daily effort gives it direction. The book is alive, just like me, growing one page, one word, one color at a time.
Through this experience, I have learned that change and consistency aren’t opposites. Change introduces new emotions, challenges and perspectives. Consistency provides structure, resilience and the ability to turn those experiences into tangible progress. Without consistency, change can feel chaotic and discouraging. Without change, consistency can feel stagnant or meaningless. But together, they allow growth, creativity, and emotional depth.
This book is more than a creative project. It is a reflection of my love, my emotions and my perseverance. It is also a reminder that life is constantly changing and that showing up every day, even when it’s difficult is what transforms ideas, feelings and intentions into something real. The book is unfinished, just like life itself. But every day I dedicate to it, I am creating meaning, learning about myself and discovering the quiet power of persistence.
Change is inevitable. Feelings fluctuate. Motivation comes and goes. But consistency allows us to turn the unpredictability of life into growth, progress and beauty. This journey is ongoing, just like the book and every page I create is proof that showing up matters more than perfection.
